How to Play Guess The Pokemon

Guess the daily mystery Pokemon in 8 tries using the clues: Name, Type, Generation, and Stats.

1. Making a guess

Type a Pokemon name in the search box (e.g. Pikachu, Charizard). As you type, a dropdown will show matching Pokemon—pick one or keep typing, then press Guess or Enter. You have 8 guesses total.

2. Reading the hints

After each guess, a new row appears with that Pokemon's info. Each column is colored:

  • Green – Match. The mystery Pokemon has the same value in that category.
  • Gray – No match. The mystery Pokemon is different in that category.

Stats columns (HP, Attack, Defense, Speed):

  • Green number – Same stat value.
  • Number with ↑ – The mystery Pokemon has higher stat value.
  • Number with ↓ – The mystery Pokemon has lower stat value.

3. Using the clues

Use greens to narrow it down. For example: if Type 1 is green, the answer has the same primary type. If Generation is green, they're from the same generation.

Play a past game

Pick any day from the last 5 years. Future dates are grayed out and cannot be selected.
